Evgeni Malkin was named one of the finalists for the Lester B. Pearson award which represents the league's "most outstanding player," voted by fellow NHL players. The players up for the Lester B. Pearson award are the same as the Hart trophy finalists. Malkin, Alexander Ovechkin, and Pavel Datsyuk.
