Gonchar skated today at an optional skate, but that does not necessarily mean he is close to game action. Bylsma has said that it is still a day-to-day evaluation.
Gonchar said today, "I have to wait and see how my body reacts to it. It's going to be a game-time decision. I don't want to say anything else. It's too early. I'm waiting until tomorrow and then we'll make a decision."
