Malkin has been playing through an illness recently, so he opted to take the day off today from practice to rest. The illness is not expected to be serious and he is expected to play tomorrow night against the Atlanta Thrashers.
Philippe Boucher returned to practice today. There is no target date for his return to game action as of yet, but he is getting closer.
