Speculation: Fleury out 3-5 weeks.

There have been some rumors going around that Pens goalie Marc Andre Fleury could be out 3-5 weeks. Everyone is being quiet about the injury itself and the recovery time. We will just have to wait and see what happens.

FSN is airing both the Winter Classic from last season and Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final against Detroit.

"The first-ever NHL Winter Classic from New Year’s Day 2008 at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Buffalo will air at 11 a.m. and again at 5:30 p.m. The Penguins defeated the Buffalo Sabres on Sidney Crosby’s shootout goal before the largest crowd ever to watch an NHL game.

Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals, which the Penguins won in triple-overtime, will air at 2 p.m. and again at 8:30 p.m. Max Talbot tied the game late in the third period and Petr Sykora scored in the third extra session as the Penguins won one of the most dramatic Finals games in recent memory."

Pens to begin road trip.

The Pens will be away from home 5 out of their next 6 games. The players look forward to just focusing on one game at a time and getting into a road routine.
Road trips can serve as good momentum if they are successful and that is exactly what the Pens plan on doing, make this road tip a success.
The players also agree that road trips are a time to bond. Some players are spending nearly all day with each other on road trips. Road trips can boost the chemistry of a team, and in Pittsburgh, we know that the Pens have great chemistry and we know that it is important to a team playing and performing well.
Hopefully this road trip can be positive in every aspect.

Pens players deliver turkeys.

Brooks Orpik, Kris Letang, and Eric Godard distributed holiday turkeys to underprivileged families today in the Hill District. The Pens were happy to help out and all agree that it is nice to put smiles on people's faces and makes them feel better. Brooks Orpik described the event as "humbling" and says it helps him to be more thankful and not take anything for granted.

Pens have disappointing loss against Canucks.

The Pens lost to the Vancouver Canucks this past Saturday 3-1. The game started interesting enough with 3 little skirmishes, some fights, about 25 seconds into the game. However, Matt Cooke was ejected from the game for a second fight and therefore could not play a game he said would be filled with a little more emotion due to the fact that he was once a Canuck. The fights did not seem to get either team going. Another thing that did not get going for the Pens was the power play. The power play that has gone 1 for 12 the past 3 games. Therrien is calling the power play a small concern right now and he says we get no energy from a power play. If the Pens look to win more games they will have to focus more on better power plays and also not resting on the fact that they have come from behind to win many games. Perhaps the Pens were thinking that this Saturday, but this time, they could not manage a comeback to force a win or even overtime.

Saturday's game also saw Luongo, the Canucks captain and starting goalie, go down with an injury.

Pens faceoff against Atlanta tonight.

The Pens will look to get back on track with their game against Atlanta tonight. They hope to improve their record at Philips arena, which since the lockout is 1-3-2. People expect tonight's game to be more open since the Thrashers style of play resembles the Pens' in some ways. Atlanta plays a much more open game than our Tuesday opponent, the Minnesota Wild, that's for sure. Many players say they will have to keep an eye on Ilya Kovalhcuk tonight and his shot.
Fleury, who did not make the trip down to Atlanta, obviously did not practice with the team today, missing his 4th in a row.

Fleury misses practice again.

Marc Andre Fleury missed practice again today and will not play tomorrow night against Atlanta. This Saturday's game status is "up in the air."
